With due respect to U. M. Omar's fine fight- ing finish, I am sure many people who saw the game will agree that he was very lucky to beat A. Ř, Dallah in the final of the Open Bowls Singles Championship of the Colony on the Club de Recreio green yesterday. Trailing 10-20 on the 14th head, he finally won 21-20 after as magni- ficent a recovery as has over been seen in the tournament-aided and abetted by a few atrocious mistakes by Dallah.

Indeed, when he recovered from a 2-8 defelt to lend 17-8'after seven consecutive successful heads, aml later grozed a. three on the 14th head to lead 20-10, Dallah was playing so well that he seemed to have the match in his pocket.
