FOR BLOOD-DONORS RESULTS of the first five-days registration of volunteer blood-
donors in the London area are giving concern to the Mini- stry of Health, the Medical Research Council and the hospital.

HUNGER STRIKE IN GAOL
Calcutta. Although Mr. Gandhi has an- nounced his disbelief in the hunger strike as prolest measure, his followers have their own views. Of the 56 political prisoners in Dum Dum Central gaol, Ove miles from Calcutta, 37 have been on hunger strike so as to force the Bengal Government to release the remainder of the political prisoners still in gaol.
The Governmeni has no intention of being intimidated, In the Legisla ture the Home Member said that the hunger strike was an open threat to the Government. He would suspend the consideration of the remaining cases by the Advisory Committee until the maintenance of a suitable atmosphere has been assured.

M.B.B.C. lines engineer, who was
found dead in his car in Ashdown Forest recently, is said to have been in dve with a Jewish girl whose family opposed their marriage on religious grounds.
