Summer Stains

QUMMER is a prolife time for

stains of all kinds. but they all have an antidote, usually consisting of some simple household commodity that is in every housewife's cupboard, Grass stains are, perhaps, the most common at this time of the year, and these can be removed easily by soaking the garment in warm milk for half-an-hour, rubbing the solled part with a cut lemon, and then washing in the usual way.

If the stain is on grey or cream flannel it is better to use glycerine. Rub it well into the stain, leave for three or four hours, and then wash aft.

Moss aluins are inore stubborn, but you can rid of themy by soaking the garment overnight in cold water to which has been added a small teacup- ful of vinegar. Next morning wring the article out, rub some methylated spirits on the stain, leave It on for five minutes, then warh with a sonpy father.

Fruit stains are mother summer trouble, but they generally appear inch worse than they prove to be when thekled. Rub galt on them while are still fresh, and wash in warm, soapy water.
