Strain Of Two Matches May Be Too Much For Hongkong Baseballers Given Two Assignments With South China Athletic Assn.

(By "Bingle")

As U.S. S. Mindanao will probably be in Can- ton this week-ond, the Hongkong Baseball Club and South China Athletic Association will play a double header, so as to expedite the conclusion of the season. This is a tough assignment for tho |Molthenmen who, when they were in a twin bill once before, showed that the strain of a two-game tussle was a little too much for them.

The only game to-day is the first of the two contests between the liongkongites and Nam Hwa at 2.30 pan, at Caroline Hill. I understand that captain Bill Sling, keystoner, and shortstop George Wu will not be in the line-up for Nam Hwn to-day as Sling will be playing lawn bowl and Wu is indisposed.

Among the twenty in the roster of the longkong Club, only a dozen of the die-hards have turned out regu- larly. For that matter, no other club, excepting Union Brewery, have had more than twelve players at one lime at the ball park.
