Great Finish In High Wind In British Open Golf Championship

London, July 8.

R. Burton, of Salo, Cheshire, won the British open golf championship at St. Andrews yesterday with an aggregate of 290 for 72 holes. Making a strong challenge after having lost his overnight load.

The heavy green did not suit J. Hoosen and A. R. Minu when they met C. Duncan and W. Gill on the Civli Service C.C. green yesterday in the Third Round of the Open Pairs Bowls Championship and they were defented by 24-16.

Starting off with two couples. Duncan and Gill established an early lead, but by the fifth head, Hoosen
