GERMANY ACCUSED

Charge Of Conquest In East Europe

WARSAW, July 17.-A direct accusation of "rapo and conquest in Eastern Europe", was levelled at Germany to-day by a former Premier of Poland, General Wladislaw Sikoraki, who also .served as Chief of Staff at ono

time.

"Germany," he warned in a signed article in the "Kurjer, Warszawski," "has not renounced her plans of rape and conquest in Eastern Europe because she wishes later to have hør hands free in the West."

General Sikorski made his accusa-, ton in the course of an analysis of Soviet Russia's present policy with consequent attachment to France and Great Britain, and the possible effects of a tripartite mutual aid puct on her Comintern policy.

He emphasized that the fortifica- lon of German Baltic_peris was directed mainly at Soviet Russia and he outlined the Baltic nations' posi- flon-facing the threat of German Regemony.

I call this a vulgar and snobbish presumption on the part of a small section of people, who pretend to be ushamed of British uniforms in times of peace, but are only too willing to shelter behind them in war.

I will tell you of an instance which happened to me. A well- known woman in Hongkong booked Iwo scats in a picture-houne, the gentleman with her being Chinese, As she saw she had to sit next to me, she got up and said to the gentleman:

We cannot sit here: he is a soldier," then went out. A few moments later she came back and sat in the front sent. I call that going to the extreme.
