American Skipper Tells Of Rescue Of 209

TOKYO, July. 21. THE first full story of the mid-ocean tragedy which befell the N.Y.K. liner Bokuyo Maru, with 110 passengers and a crew of 102 aboard in the Pacific Ocean on July 18, was given to- day by Captain Hawkins of the American tanker Associated, which picked up the passengers and crew of the vessel.

According to Press message from Honolulu. Captain Hawkins re- porls that the S. S. Associated on Tuesday, July 18, received distress signals from the Japanese steamer Bokuyo Maro, indicating that the ship was atire in mid-ecran.

The American ship inmediately endeavoured to get into touch with the distressed vessel by radio but its elforts proved unsuccessful.
