DRUGS IN MAGAZINES QUEEN'S & ALHAMBRA

Film Actress Tells

"LIKE a war-time spy story" was the comment of counsel at Marylebone recently, describing how a film actress obtained supplies of drugs concealed in mago- zines posted to her from America.

Margaret Burton (28), of independent means, living in Connaught Square, W.2, pleaded guilty through her counsel, Mr. Bernard Gillis, to being found in the un- authorised possession of a quantity of heroin.

Mr. H. A. K. Morgan, prosecuting, said Miss Burton returned to England from Hollywood about 12 months ago and since then dad received regular.supplies of heroin from America.

The supplies always came in the same way, like a secret message in a war spy story,

Innocent looking packets contain-/ ing American magazines and news- papers were delivered mothly and fatterly weekly at Miss Burton's ad- dress by the postman.
