Promotion For Cherrill Of Yard CHIEF INSPECTOR F. CHER- RILL, who for 20 years has served in the fingerprint depart ment of Scotland Yard, was re- cently promoted to Superinten- dent and given sole charge of the department.
Superintendent Cherri started In the Metropolitan Police 21 years ago at Wandsworth, and shortly after- wards was transferred as pollee- constable to the fingerprint section.
He has worked through all grades of the service and recently took charge when Superintendent Battley! retired.
