Mr. A. W. Grimmitt's best man and Mrs. Crim- mitt's bridesmaid were pre. sent at thoir Silver Wedding cocktall party in the Jacobean Room of the Hongkong Hotel yesterday. THEY were Mr. J. Brook, of the Standard Vacuum Oil Co., and Mrs. E. Andrews, who is Mrs. Grimmitt's sister.

Mrs. Grimmitt, who is the eldest daughter of the late Mr. Patrick Murray, formerly manager of North Point Installation of the Asiatic Petroleum Co., Ltd., ro ceived the guests in a smart light blue frock with a round Ince collar, Multi-coloured flowers trimmed the crown of her small hat of navy-blue smooth strany.

Mr. Grimmitt is the Acting Chief Preventative Officer of the Revenue Department and is due for retirement in 1841. He joined the Hongkong Police Force on February 0, 1011, and on January 1, 1920 was appoint- ed First Class Revenue Omeer.

Mr. Brook, proposing a toast to Mr. and Mr. Crimmitt, cald."I was my happy privilege to be best man at the wedding of my dear friend, Mr. Grimmitt, and his charming spouse 25 years ago. They have been blessed with a quiverful of happy children and now it is my duty to ask you to charge your glasses and drink to the health and happiness of our worthy host and hostess."

Mcs. Andrews was present in a charming green and white print: trock, Miss M. Murray, anolher Bister, and Mrs. R. H. Murray (xister-in-law) also attended.

Mrs. Wuss chose a dark rose frock, with white | turbart for the occasion, while Winni- | fred also were a white turban, with u navy frock. Flo looked charming 11 a princess frock of pale blue organdy with a white picture hat. Helen came in gay dress of floral stripes, while little Paddy looked enchanting in printed organdy trim- med with navy rick-racic braid.

The cake was presented by Mr. and Mrs. J. Hollands, of Ashford, Middie-

sex.
