GEORGE POTTS' MEMORIAL CUP MAIN RACE AT MACAO MEETING THIS SUNDAY
PROGRAMME BRINGS
FIRST HALF OF SEASON TO AN END
(By "Captain Foster")
The Macao Jockey Club will bring their first half racing season to a close on Sunday when a good pro. gramme of six interesting events will be contested at Ärcia Preta. The s.s. Kinshan will leave at 9.30 a.m., re- turning from Macao at 8 p.m.
Rosalind Russell thinks s kiss on the lips is worth two on the hand, Her not-so-bold lover is Patrie Knowles and together they make up half of the frolicsome crowd in "Four's A Crowd," coming to the King's Theatre to-morrow.
The main event is the George another success to secure the trophy Potts' Memorial Cup, a handicap for for Mrs. Gelllon. However Fairy Macan subscription ponies over a Auk was badly left at the post in mile, and a special dollar cash sweep the Guin Handicap run on June 18, is being conducted on the major con-jord us a result the pony Anished test. The teams are the chief rivala for the Dunlop Shield ond the winners to-day will almost certainly go on to win the championship.
While the Chinese may have the better male players, their ladies - not nearly as good as the U.S.R.C. ladies and a victory for the King's Park team seems likely.

BRITISH SOLDIERS TURN TO BASEBALL
Engineers Trounce Royal Scots
(By "Eingle")
Twenty-nine safeties off the easy offerings of five Royal Scots, plus nine bobbles, cost the Jocks the first baseball game played against the Royal Engineers, 36 to 5, when they met yesterday at Murray Parade Ground. In- cidentally, this is the first base- ball game played in Hongkong by two British regiments.
Starting with four runs in the first canto, the Scots looked as though they might put up a better showing, but the Sappers came back with twenty-two runs on sixteen hits in the same inning to salt the game away on lee,
There weren't so many miscues, considering the fact that only about three of the Scots and ever played this sport before, but their pitchers couldn't find the plate while their batters were swinging at all the bad ones, as well as the good. ones. Catcher Cook allowed fifteen passed balls, while three hurlers had six wild pitelics chalked up to them.
Two double plays were pulled off by the Sappers. Goodman to Shaw to Ings in the third, and Goodman to Balley to Welford in the next canto. The Engineers madò a very good showing in their first appearance at the American national pastime, and Garms and Hapselt homered for there is every indication that they next the Braves and Moore for the Glants, will enter the local League Batteries Braves, Macfayden and season.
