Most Faith Among Old And Rich

LYING at the core of almost every religion is a belief

in man's immortality.

To test how far a belief in immortality is held by the men and women of Great Britain, the British Institute of Public Opinion, in its latest survey of "What Britain Thinks," asked a representative number the following question:

"Do you believe in a life after death 76

49%...sald....Yes.

33%....said....No.

18%....saldi....No opinion.

The number of those who believe in personal survival increases con- siderably with increasing age.

THE AGE TEST

Among those aged 50 and over, 53 per cent. said they believed in a life after death.

Among the middle-aged, those from 30 to 40, tris proportion decreased to 47 per cent.
