Locking your car doors does

not mean it is safe from thieves

THEN you lock the doors of your car and leave it you 'cannot be sure that it is safe from thieves. Mr. P. Godfrey, official of a firmi of jewellers, found this out recently.

Here is his story: "I left my car, with jewellery worth more than £1,000 in it, in Lime-street, Bedford. The car is specially fitted with padlocks and chaina, and I left everything fastened.

"I called at a jeweller's twenty yards away, round a corner. When I returned ten minutes later the car had gone." Police were still looking for the car la te that night.
