Sgt. J. THEFT FROM MULE CART The theft of a canvas cover from a mule cart belonging to the Royal Indian Army Service Corps in the R.A.S.C. Comber on Monday led to Chan Wah-yuen, 18, unemployed, Forrest at the Central Magistracy being
charged before Mr. R.AD. yesterday.
Chan pleaded guilty. He said ho had come from the country where his mother had been killed in an air-raid. He had formerly
worked for the R.LAS.C. and had been promised food and wages of $3 per month. He had received food, but alleged he had never been pald wages.

ELECTRIC BULBS TAKEN Charged with the theft of two electric bulbs from the roof of n house in Bonhamn Strand East and returning after being banished for ten years in October, Ho Tack, 28, unemployed, was sentenced to two months' and nine months' hard labour respectively, by Mr. R. Edwards at the Central Magistracy yesterday.
THEFT OF FLANKS Questioned by a detective while carrying two planks in Hollywood Road, Sze K1, 32, street coolie, ad- mitted that he had stolen them from a shop in Queen's Road Central. He was sentenced to six weeks' hard labour by Mr. R. Edwards at the Central Magistracy yesterday. He had two previous convictions.

A Shanghai tailor, Chung Chang- kwal, 34, was charged before Mr. T. J. Houston at the Central Magistracy yesterday with the possession of a 7.65 calibre Bayard automatic pistol and four rounds of ammunition, and ---0.36 calibre-Marina-automatie pistol and 12 rounds of ammunition, nt a flat in Main Street West, Shau- kiwan, on May 4. He was commit- ted for trial. Mr. F. H. Loseby ap- peared for the defence.
