40th Netherlands Fair Hold At Utrecht

The 40th Netherlands Fair, which was held at Utrecht from Murch 14-10, 1030, showed favourable pro- gress. There was a latge attendance of trade-buyers and an impectant In- crease in the number of vistiors from abroad, especially from Belgium, Great Britain and the United States,

For account of home-buyers a large number of important trans- | actions were concluded, while busi- ness with, foreign buyers was likewise, brisit.

Nearly all groups of participating in- dustries profited from the prevailing! activity and especially the groups of Building and rond-making materials, machinery, metalware, electrical en-i gineering and household goods were very satisfied with the results,) There was a noticeable interest from abroad for the earthenware-section, especially for earthenware for build-i ing purposes. Textiles and ready- made clothing likewise formed centre of interest both for home and

foreign buyers. Participants num bered 2031 and the space rented] amounted to 102,000 sq. feet. Owing to shortage of space, many firms un- fortunately could not be admitted. The construction of a fourth fair- building is under consideration.

The number of visitors is estimat- ed at about 80,000. Several foreign Ministers, accredited to H.M.'s Court showed their interest by visiting the Fair.

IF EVER you receive warning that war threatens, do these things at once:

1-Prepare and equip your TC- fuge-room.

2. Make all preparations for darkening the house of night. Windows, akylights, Janlights, glazed doors must be completely obscured.

3. Clear the loft, attle, top floor, of inflammable stuff that can be noved, to lessen the risk of fire from an incendiary bomb that might penetrate the roof. Assemble appliances to fight fires. Also, if possible, limewash the timbers in the attic or roof space, and pro- tect the floor.

4.Children, Invalids, ciderty members of the household, and pets, should be evacuated, if this is possible.
