LOOKING back over our international Rugby season the name of Sid Williams, the Aberavon wing, comes first to mind. finest international discovery. We had cause also to be thankful for the unearthing of M. J, Davies, the South African Welshman, who was discovered at Oxford. Taken all round, we should be well off for centres next scason.
To me the greatest artist in Welsh taining, but it ta regrettable that our football to-day is Willle Bavica, the "Sevens" tournament fell through! Swansea and Wales fly-half. Tanner has been quite consistently goed, but it is Davies who has reached the sublime heights. I confess I have derived more pleasure watching his beautifully balanced And clusive running than from anyone else.

We believe we have quite a num- ber of young players who will be in the limelight next season. Person- ally I have great hopes for G. Hale, the young Cardiff centre, and H. M. Baker, a Welsh reserve this year who plays in Newport's three-quarter line.
TRIBUTE TO MATTHEWS You will probably bear great deal, too, of Jack Matthews, a youth- ful centre from Bridgend.
