F.J.T. LOCKE DOES WELL WITH EPEE IN POLONIA CUP MATCH

Fencers in Hongkong will be deeply interested to learn that Mr. F. J. T. Locke, of the Public Works Department, and an enthusiastic fencer, was recently selected to represent Salle Bertrand, probably the oldest Salle d'Armes in England, in the Polonia Cup Competition. Mr. Locke is now on holiday in England.

The trophy for the competition was ... presented to the A.F.A. by the Polish for an Inter- Fencing Association

national three-weapon team contest. The British Salles and clubs entered are now reduced to four, who will compete with the foreign teams at Bertrand's on May 20 and 21, these being the Salle Bertrand, Salle Paul, London Fencing Club and Lansdowne Club.

Mr. Lucke is quite un old member of the Salle Bertrand, but this is the Best time that he has represented them with the epec. Apart from the Polonia Cup Competition, Mr. Locke, was also chosen to represent Bert- rand's with the epee in a three wea

on match in the Nairn Cup, which is a trophy that has been fought for each year for 20 years by teams of three one follist, one epeelst and me sabreur, from each of the Army, Navy, Air Force, Salle Bertrand and the Sabre Club.

ENTERS CHAMPIONSHIP

Mr. Locke us also been entered for a British epee championship in June. He has been doing a lot of іть fencing in the Cercle Militaire Purin under the direction of the Maitre Dodivers, who is the father of Fencing Professors in France.

French Players Called Up

Paris, May 3.

The two French Davis Cup tennis players. Petra and Pelizza, have been called up for military service and will probably not be able to partici- pate in the first elimination round which is to be played on May 18. They belong to the 24th infantry regiment, which according to Petit Parisien, has
