LANGUAGE SCHOOL Failure Explained In Chamber Report.

The discontinuation of the Chinese Language School was ox- plained by the Hongkong General Chamber of Commerce in its annual report, which says that the reasons for the failure were lack of direction from a European Director of Studies, an insufficient number of pupils and lack of suitable accommodation.

The report states:

The General Committee accepted, with regret, u recommendation by the Chinese Language School Sub- committee that the Chamber's classes In Cantonese Colloquial and Mandar- in be discontinued as from November 30, 1038.
