Hongkong Defeated In Interport

Soccer Match

LEE WAI-TONG INJURED EARLY IN THE GAME.

Hongkong rather unexpectedly lost the Inter- port soccer match in Manila yesterday by three goals to one.

Misfortune dogged the visitors, it seems.

Before the match

it was found that Leung Wing-chia, one of the best half-backs in the Far East, was unable to play, and his absence thus considerably weakened the Hongkong defence. On top of this, Lee Wai-tong, the Chincio soccer idol and Hongkong centre-forward, on whom the Colony's scoring hopes were based, was injured five minutes after the start.

A Reuter cable states that Lee was "injured" but a United Preзa mcs- sage says that he developed cramp. Anyway, Lee was off the field for a Ittle while, and though he returned, Reuter states that he was a passen. ger for the remainder of the encoun- tor while United Press, describing his play, says he was unable to show his old-time form.

Lee will not play again for the remainder of the stay in the 'Philip- pines.
