INDIANS FORM NEW KENYA LEAGUE

NAIRODI.

A special conference called by the East African Indian National Con- tess, after two days' discussion, decided to form a Kenya -Highlands League.

The League will oppose by nil possible peaceful methods the recent Order in Council, which perpetuates the privileged position of Europeans In the Highlands and excludes In- dians from holding land in that area. The conference also advised Con- gress and the entire Indian com- munity to withdraw support from the Tanganyika. WARDER KILLED IN PRISON MUTINY

CALCUTTA. A serious mutiny in the Warangal Gaul, in Hyderabad State, quelled by warders after a desperate struggle. A warder and a convict were killed and 13 warders and four convicts were injured.

All the rioters were long term men. They broke down their cells and released other prisoners.

SOUTH AFRICA BOYCOTT OF BRITISH IN SOUTH-WEST

All German stores and businesses in Swakopmund, South-West Africa, recently received strict Instructions not to employ any Afrikanders or Britons, on pain of

having dis- ciplinary action taken

against them by the German Association.

The threatened disciplinary action would me

meon that the "offending" businesses would be boycotted by Germans, both residunts and visitors. The local newspaper, the Deutsche Beobachter,

warned Germons who became naturalised British sub- jeels

that they will be strictly ostracised by all other Germans in the country.

Nazi Activity-In the House of Assembly recently Mr. H. Oos, Member for Pretoria, warned the Union

Government aguinst .the growth of Nazi activity throughout Union. Не accused the Nationalists of working hand-in-hand with the Germans. He said that certain Nationalists used the phrase "Hell Hitler," and regarded "Mein Kampf" as their dalty food and read it with their blbles.

SMALL-SUGAR CROP EXPECTED

PORT LOUIS. The whole of Mauritius, was well- watered by heavy ralas recently. The SURAT crop this year Js estimated at between 220,000 and 230,000 tons.

This compares very unfavourably with last year's crop of 320,000 tons.

It means over £400,000 less-revenue for the country.
