If you go in for that softened roll (right), for in- stance, you can afford to try a smart severe sailor or Breton; if you wear your hair across the nape of your neck (bottom left) balance it with high pillboxes or deep bonnets. If you sweep it boldly back and up (bottom right) you can safely risk one of the more exaggerated and sophisticated new hat shapes,
