THE TRAFFIC TOLL Analysis of Accidents Last Week

a.m.

In the Colony of Hongkong includ- ing the Island, Kowloon and the New- Territories during the week ending B April 15,. there were altogether 87 traffe accidents as the result of which 32 persons were in- jured.

Or persons injured, 10 were pedestrians, who were either walk- ing or running across the road and were struck by vehicles.

Four bicycle riders, a motor cyclist, a small child and a bus passenger were injured as the result of coilt- sions between vehicles.

One bicycle rider was injured when his bleycle ran into a hillede.

A lorry passenger was injured when jumping off a moving lorry.

Two lorry passengers were infüred on falling from a moving tram and moving buses respectively collisions

Of 87 accidents, 30 were between vehicles, 32 collisions bo- tween vehicles and pedestrians, 16 accidents were dug to other causes.

The types of vehicles involved were private motor cars 45, noter lorries 18, motor buses 10; pubile motor cars 20, motorcycles 1, trámcors a tricycles 2, hicycles 12, rickshas 4.
