SOME DAY YOUR CAR MAY BE RUNNING ON COAL DUST

New Engine Ready For Trial

SOME DAY you may be running your car on coal. Yes, motorist, on coal-not on petrol or gas obtained from coal, but on coal itself, introduced into the cylinder in the form of a fine dust and mixed with compressed air so as to form an explosive mixture.

Experiments on the use of coal-dust in. Diesel engines have been proceeding for a long time, but they are now entering the practical stage.

Dr. Hans Wahl, a German engineer atruction and operation had reduced who is one of the world's leading authorities on the subject, told the Internal Combustion Engine Group of the Institution of Mechanical En- gineers at Swansen recently of the surces which has attended these experiments.

WHAT EVERY-MINER KNOWS

He said that after several decades of development the coal-dust engine. can be regarded as "ripe for trial in Rervice."
