Dull Game In Tennis Tournament
Lee Wai-tong In Semi-Finals
(By "Abo")
Though spasms of good play relieved the monotony, yester day's stand court match in which Lee Wai-tong and I. M. A. Razack met in the quarter-finals of the Colony Tennis singles championship was a disappointing onc.. The Indian R.C. player was extremely erratic and offered little resistance to the sounder all-round play of the Chinese
soccer star.
In almost every respect, Lee was the worthy winner, and the Anal scores of 6-1, 6-4 in no way flattered bin. In fact, had he gone all out in the second, it is doubtful. whether Razack would have been able to take four games from him.
There were times, however, when Razack played good tennis; but more often he was over-hitung even the easiest of returna. He brought off one of the best shots seen in the current championships in the first set when, after being apparently beaten by Lee at the net, he rushed back and with a backhand flek of the wrist put the ball post the astonished Lec.
The Chinese brought his drop shot into play in the first set, and becouse of his good command over it he won many points thereby. Razack's at-' tempts to play Lee At his own game were not always successful, but he passed his opponent beautifully when the latter made injudicious advances to the net.
