U.S. RECOGNITION OF GERMAN INFLUENCE
WASHINGTON, Apr. 7.-A proclamation by President Roose- vel, released by the State Department, to put into effect the Turkish- American agreement, indicates that the President considers Slovakia to be under German administration.
The proclamation states that the "products of Slovakia shall be regarded as the products of Germany."
State Department officials declared that on the strength of the proclamation, the United States would refuse to credit any German representations that Slovakia was an independent nation.-Reuter.

THE GERMAN news broadcast to-night said: "Poland is now venturing out into things from which it is well known that it is questionable that one can return safely."
Using language which is practically identical with semi-official diplomatic and political correspondence, the National Zeitung reiterates Germany's attitude on the Polish-British agreement in the most unfavourable terms, stating that Germany never intended to attack Poland, -United Press.
