EVIDENCE of the existence of an organised gang which is believed to have perpetrated the series of daring armed robberies in Kowloon is said to have been obtained by the police authorities as the result of arrests this morning. The "Telegraph" understands that the polico found
in the possession of an arrested man documentary evidence of an organised plot to systematically attack and rob buildings in the Prince Edward Road area.
It is stated that part of the documentary evidence chronicled the day-by-day movements of a large number of residents of Prince Edward Road.
In addition to the names and addresses of prospective European victims, the documents contained a caroful sum- mary of their movements, recording, for instance, the times at which persons left for thair offices in the morning, the times they returned from the city, and the times at which housewives left home on shopping expeditions.
It is understood that the arrests have solved a large number of armed robberies which have taken place in this area in the past two months,

Throughout the night the flames licked hungrily at the proud city's buildings.
They spread from street to street.

Rapidly Gutting
This morning, huge pillars of flame and amoke are visible for miles around. The Japanese report that the entire city is being rapidly gutted.
In burning and dynamiting Non-i chang, the Japanese claim that the Chinese have resorted to the search- ed earth polley on a scale never before attempted.
The city, which once boasted a population of 1,250,000, is complete-
ly deserted except for the Japanese and hundreds of famished dogs.--
