Two Novel Cakes

ERE are recipes" for two delici-

Fudge Cake

Taketh flour, 1 oz ground rice, 3 ozs butter or margarine, tea- spoon cach mixed spice and ground ginger, 2 ozs Demerara sugar. 2 oZA golden syrup, teaspoonful baking: powder, 1 large tablespoon milk, 2 eggs, fudge Alling, and few walnuts for decoration.

For the fudge Alling use Û oza Demerara sugar, 1 oz butter, 2 table- spoons milk.

Beat the butter and soft cream, then add the spices and golden syrup, Bent until evenly

mixed. Whisk up eggs.

Now add a little ground rice and flour alternately with the eggs, un- tli all the eggs and anilk are used.

Finally, sprinkle in the baking powder. Turn into a well-grensed handwleh tin and bake in a moder- ate oven (Regulo Mark 3 or elec- tricity 400 degs Fahrenheit) for about:20 minutes.
