The Admiralty recently ro- leased this drawing of the Navy's £7,500,000 battleship
King George V., which was launched by the King at Walker-on-Tyne. The drawing, by naval, artist Oscar Parkes, shows details that wilt make the complated versel unique among the world's war- ships.
Sho will be the first British battleship to mount four big guns in one turret. Moro, she has new forms of protection against gun, torpedo, and air attack that will make her the Navy's safost sfiip. SHE LOOKED LIKE THIS- Workmen, sailor boys and a huge crowd watching the King George V. slide down the slipway into the Tyno, Mch high on the deck are cheering the first launch of a British battleship sinco Rodney, thirteen years ago. Now work on a bigger battleship, the Lion, will begin on the same slip- way. It is understood she will be of 40,000 tons, and carry sixteen-inch guns.
