AIR FLEETS TO FLY

ON COAL

British Oil Sensation

BRITAIN'S air fleets of the future may fly on synthetic petrol, the product of Britain's semi-derelict coal- fields. Such is the possibility opened up by activities in the little mining village of Glenbeig, Coatbridge, Glas-

gow.

Here, à demonstration plant is making synthetic oil from coal-at the rate of 200 gallons a day. The product is a crude oil which splits up into 50 per cent, lubricating

oil.
