MANILA, Mar. 7.
CLIMAXING A WEEK of agrarian unrest, in which several hundred troops have been distributed in the affected provinces as a result of the rebellious attitude of the tenant farmers, the National Assembly has voted the $250,000 emergency appropriation which President Manuel Quezon requested, in order to "augment facilities to enable the Government to control and suppress acts of violence: and lawlessness."
The situation is tense in the Pampanga, Bulacon and Nue- vaecija provinces, although the presence of armed soldiers has prevented a recurrence of last weck's clash at Pampanga in which 15 were wounded, when share-croppers attacked troops guarding the division of the rice
crop.
