Next he went peari fishing and got to know the New Guinea coast and the Solomon Islands well as any white man of his time. The natives named him "Maraki Meraki," or "The Devil That Knows All Things.".
He went before the mast again, Joined Elder Dempsters in 1898, and transferred to the Canadian Pacific in 1003 as second ofler of the Lake Champlain, s first Canadian Paci fle command was the Milwaukee in 1208.
Captain Kendall was engaged an Admiralty service from September 1814 to November 1910, and it ly his proud boust that he brought 190 ships safely home.
