WOMAN'S 'PHONE CALL
STOPS FUNERAL
Officer Worried Over Wife's Allowance
A WOMAN'S anonymous telephone message stop- ped the funeral of Lieutenant Edmund Percival Campbell, former Royal Indian Navy officer, of Creffield-road,
· Ealing Common, it was revealed at an Ealing inquest recently.
Campbell, who was G4. was separated from his wife. He was found unconscious in a gateway. His wife, who lived in the same street, was called and wished to give him a hypodermie in- i jection, but was persuaded not to do 80.
He was taken to Ealing Hospital,; The widow, Mrs. Margaret Russeit: where he died three hours later. A Camptic, asked by the coroner, Dr. Dr. Mason was called in and after, consultation with a hospitud doctor issued a death eerullente.
Mr. W. F. Greig, solleiter, who had acted for both Campbell and bis wife in respect of the separation, and that he saw Campbell the day he died.
He was deprested and sat that the £2-a-week allowance that he had been entitled to under the deed of separation had been stopped by his wife. He did not think he could
carry on.
The next morning Mi. Gerig Ten eelerd an anonymous message statins that Campbell was dead.
