IMPRESSIVE RUN
GOVERNOR'S CUP IN TO-DAY'S PROGRAMME
Well, after so many weeks of speculation, the question as to whether Rose Elect or Navylight is the better pony has been decided at last. Judging by yesterday's race in the Hongkong Derby, there can be no doubt whatever that Rose Elect is the superior animal, possessing both stamina and pace.
The question now arisen; Can Mr. Eu Tong-sen's candidate beat Silky- light in the Champions to-morrow? If Rose Eleci runs the way she did yesterday when she smashed Liberty Bay's record for the mile and a hair, die has a great chance of currying off the Champions as well. And one nest not overlook the fuct that she having was not extended yesterday, to make the pace herself. It was in- derd a wonderful performance.
Some interesting races are on to- th Royal Navy day's curd,
Griffins Challenge Cup,
Tyre Stakes, Governor's Cup and the Rooty-1 Derby.
Rivulet
Cup,
In the Australian classic, Ri reins to have a great chance of win- ning as she has been showing very consistent form during the last two
has bem days. In two starts she
placed secund and first, and seems to this be the outstanding griffin of meeting.
A GOOD TUSSLE
The Hopeful Stakes Should proxiuce good light between Conquering Time and flyndford Bridge, both win- ners yesterday. By winning the race Hynd- In which she started
ford Bridge proved that pranian she
does not start badly, she has plenty of running, and she should give Con- quering Time a good run to-day.
Celtic Star's burst in the last 100 yards or so in the Exchange Piate to nose oul Musketeer was a revelation to many people, and she is bound to have plenty of support in the Sub- scription Griffins Challenge Cup. Musketeer may secure her revenge, but Marksman will probably occupy third place.
If Desert Chief starts in the Peking Plate, the ought to win hands down. King's Warden ran very well yester- day and got quite close to Desert Cliler at the finish, but a surprise does not seem to be likely.

Mr. Sowell Not Seriously Hurt
it was learned this morning that although Mr. C. W. Se-
well, who was thrown from his mount in the opening race yesterday, was still in hospital, he is not seriously hurt.
Beyond a severe shaking- up, he is understood to be suffering from no ill effects. No bones are broken.
