1937 than in any year since 1933, says the All In Pawn

Registrar-General,

The figure was 610,557, compared with 680.413 in 1933, when the birth rate was the lowest recorded since 1860 (when the population was less than half what it is now).

In Germany they have risen from 109,598 in 1933 to 1,319,032 in 1934,
