VANCOUVER, Feb. 1.

CANADIAN AND AMERI- CAN General Staffs, ac- cording to reports from Otta- wa, quoting the "Vancouver Sun", are going to work out plans for the joint defence of

the Pacific coast of the United States and Canada.

These plans envisage, among other things, the protection of the Canadian coast from the sea by the United States fleet, while Canadian forces are to confine themselves to protec- ting coastal defences and strategical positions.

The plans also envisage the construction of strategic roads through Canada, connecting the United States and Alaska, --Trans-Deaan.
