The Recreio second eleven only managed to get six more than their first eleven did, but it was quite suf- fielen to heat Craigengewer who got eight less than the Civil Service seniors! It is not often that a frat anil second eleven who only total 142 runs between them get away with two wins!

The other small scoring match from one point of view, was when the Civil Service second were din missed by the University for 74. Barrow alone (21 not out) seemed likely to do much. Personally 1 think it is high time he went back to the first. The University gel go- ing pretty well, chiefly, thanks to G. Hong Choy who retired with his score at 11. Matthews was not out 16. He is, I think, lately from the D.B.S. as is Gegn who, though he failed with the bat, took 4 wickets for 22 runs.

SUNDAY GAMES

I had meant to go over and have a took in the afternoon at the Navy and Volunteer match, but completely succumbed in favour of a good hearty walk over the hillsides to Deep Water Bay. It probably did me much more good and anyway, the Volunteers managed to win without my moral support. For the Navy, Whitmarch, who has definite- ly returned to form, knocked up 40 while Corver, had 30 and Bowden had 16. Their total was 144 which wasn't such a bad one. However, the Volunteers dealt with the matter firmly, R. M. King and Ride started oft well and George Souza produced another nice knock of 30. Perry nude 28 (what a pity it wasn't the day before that he had made it) and the Volunteers got the runs for 8 wickets,
