CHUNGKING, Jan. 29.

PRIVATE German circles here to-day told the "United

Press" that relations between Germany and Russia were so much improved recently that the German-Japan- Italian anti-Comintern Pact is likely to become a scrap of paper, resulting in the complete desertion of Japan by Germany and Italy.

It was pointed out that a trade commission was going from Berlin to Moscow to arrange a trade pact be- tween Germany and Russia, and also for arranging an improvement in diplomatic relations between the two countries.

It is said that German Pas- cism and Russian Socialism are not regarded as incompatible, as Hitlerism is also based on Social- ism. The difference between the political ideals of the two) countries is felt to be negligible, and that friction between the
