LERIDA, JAN. 24. THE INSURGENTS' VANGUARDS REACHED THE FIRST HOUSES IN BARCELONA PROPER AT 10.20 P.M. TO-NIGHT, THIRTY-TWO DAYS AFTER THE START OF THE CATALONIAN EARLIER OFFENSIVE BY GENERAL FRANCO.
IN THE DAY THE STRATEGIC TOWNS OF MANRESA AND MARTORELL WERE CAPTURED BY THE INSURGENTS, WHICH BROUGHT THEM WITHIN LESS THAN FIVE MILES OF THE CAPITALUNITED PRESS.
