Pleads Ignorance

A woman, Chau Hing, 31, described ns a prostitute, was charged before Mr. R. A. D. Forrest at the Central Magistracy yesterday with soliciting for an Iramoral purpose at Pedder Street on Saturday. She admitted the offence, but claimed she did not know that it was forbidden.

Sub-Inspector R. McEwen said the woman was known to the police as

one of the "regulars" who habitually frequented Pedder Street, and she had been warned at least a dozen times to keep away.
