Wang Ching-wei to Call
Kuomintang Meet in H.K.?
CHUNGKING, Jan. 6.
THE CHINESE, official newspaper stated to-day that it is intended to issue a call summoning the Kuomintang's central executive committee to meet in Hongkong in the middle of January, This would conflict with a similar meeting of the central executive committee of the National Government called at Chungking.
It is believed this is an attempt to establish a japanese- supported "Puppet" Central Government, headed by Wang Ching-wel, with Wu Poi-fu and Chow Fu-hai as deputies, and also including those supporters of Wang Ching-wei who are now in Hongkong.
However, should such a meeting materialise, it is not expected to affect the Central Government's united front.-- United Press,

GAIN HIS FREEDOM
"Dreyfus" Of America
San Quentin, Jan. 6. TOM MOONEY, sen- tenced 21 years ago to life imprisonment, was in high spirits to-day, packing his belongings in readiness to begin a new life of freedom.
He has been informed that he will receive a par- don,
Discussing his plans for using his freedom, he said: "I am going to dedicate the rest of my life, if necessary, to freeing Warren Billings, who was sentenced under similar circum- stances to me."
It is expected that Mooney will be taken to Sacramento to-morrow to receive his pardon at the hands of Governor Olson-Reuter,
Mooney, known as "the American Dreptus" was one of the workers' lenders in a serious labour dispute which led to rieling at San Fron- cisco in 1816.
On "Preparedness Day" a bomb outrage was committed with the result that ten persons were killed and 40 injured.
THE AMERICAN DREYFUS Mooney and a fellow-leader named Billings were arrested and charged with murder.
Mooney called evidence to show that he had nothing to do with the outrage and that he was not even near the scene.
