South Africans Taking No Chances Whatever

Unless the remaining South African wickets aro dismissed cheaply and quickly this morning, the Second Test match now being played at Cape Town will probably end in another draw.

The M.C.C. innings was declared closed at 559 for nine wickets yesterday morning. Batting for the remainder of the day, the South Africans were very slow and at close of play had made only 213 for the loss of six wickets.

The tourists met with further suc- cess shortly afterwards when E. A. Rowan, the incoming batsinan, was hawled by Weight with n bl off- break after he had inade only six. The total now stood at 79.

Joined by A. D. Nourse, Mitchell emntinued to bat very dully. At ten, which was taken at 121 for two

almost wickets, Nourse had taken him, the scores being Mitchell 30 and Nourre 33.
