Too Many Babies At This Show

OLICE reinforcements wore called to a baby show at St. Stephen's Church Hall, Upton Park, E., recently, to control the crowd of mothers who brought their children to be judged. Two or three hundred babies were expected. Actually about 1,500 wore brought. Here is part of the

Directly connected with the first arul last acts of the Great. War, Mr. E. D. Thomas, of Brighton (right), a commissionaire of Brighton. and Mr. F. H. Pennington, of Hove, met for the first time when it was arranged that they hould broadcast together. They had been Dving within a mile of each other lor some time. Me. Thomas red the first shot at the beginning of the war, and Mr. Pennington dispatched the "Cease fire" telegram at the end.
