Supplementary Estimates
For The Current
There will be a number of votes before the Finance Committee of the Legislative Council this afternoon totalling $437,177. Most of them are small items, among the larger ones being $14,000 ns emergency expenses for the Police Force arising out of the Sino-Japanese conflict, $10,000 towards refugee camps, and $18,700 ns a grant to the Emergency Refugee Council.
Considerably more than half the total, however, is taken up by a vote of $280,000 for civil pensions, retiring allowances and gratuities.
