Rid yourself of Stomach Pain in

the same quick way

Most stomach suffering is the outcome of acidity. It begins with undigested food remaining in the stomach, setting up fermentation. This causes the acidity which from mere discomfort can soon lead to serious damage.

At first, the victim notices an un pleasant sourness in the throat and mouth arising from the fermentation. The nauseous gases accumulate, the stomach feels 'blown out," headaches and lassitude follow, Dull, nogging pain acts in, adding to the sufferer's misery. But there is no need to worry. Stomach trouble at this stage is quite sally put right.

Ban On Gretna Weddings

THE

HE abolition of irregular marriages by declaration, the form employ- ed at Gretna, is the aim of a bil presented in the House of Lords by Lord Strathcona, Under-Secretary for War.

Entitled the Marringe (Scotland) Bill, it gives effect to recommenda- tions made by a committee which in- vestiated the marriage Jaws of Scotland.

The report of this committee, over which Lond. Morison presided, was presented to Parliament in January, 1937.

The bill provides a new form of marrlage in the office of a

regular births, deaths and mar-

riages. The Registrar-Ceneral will authorise particular registrars to officiate at such marriages, for which there will be a fee of 5s.

A sheriff is empowered to issue u Icence

ence for a marriage, either religious or civil, in cases where it is not possible to secure proclamation of banns or publication of notice till after the day on which it is intended that the marriage should take

place. The sheriff's licence would also apply in cases where there is reason- able

excuse for failure to secure pro- clamation or publication in time.

All marriages in the office of a registrer will be registered forthwith, and the difficulties which at times arise from failure to secure registra- tion of Irregular marriages will be obviated.

Existing practice in religious mar- fringes is not affected.
