Contrary to expectations air mails from Australia and England failed to arrive either on Saturday or yesterday. It was at first intended to send, the mails from Bangkok on Saturday, and next that at least the Australian mails, should be sent yesterday. Now it is proposed to send both Australian and English mails 'to-day.

Since this is the first Christmas period in which the all-up air mail scheme has operated to Australia, New Zealand, the Far East and In- din, as well as to Africa, the task of the Post Omce and Imperial Air- ways in estimating the expected |CHINA loads was an extremely difficult one.

A new regular air service between London and Lisbon is to be opened on January 2.

The distance of roughly 980 miles will be covered within five hours in a non-stop light by twin-engined Lockheed machines.
