YAUMATI SLUM EXPERIMENT
Need Of Better Wages
THE HONGKONG Peace Pledge Union has adopted Social Settlements, the experiment carried out by a group of European social workers in Wai Ching Street, Yaumati, the first results of which were revealed in a com- prehensive report issued some months ago, and published in the "Telegraph."
The decision to take over the management of the Wai Ching Street tenements was made by the local branch of the P.P.Ú., at a meeting on Tuesday of this week, when it was also announced that they would wel- come financial aid to help carry on both the Settlement and the excellent school attached to it.
