Film Expedition Finds

Rare Jungle Tribe

A village of negroes who had apparently never before zeen a white man has been discovered in South America by film production expedi- tion.

By short wave radio from Dutch Gulana, the discoverers, Clyde De- Vinna and Richard Rosson, advised their superiors at Metro-Goldwyn- Mayer that the usual negroes were found in the jungle bnterior on the Surimacen River.

Although President Theodora Roosevelt first discovered the strange tribe, the Djukas, in 1908, during his River of Doubt expedition, DoVinna and Rosson have found one village Bear Paramaribo that President Roosevelt ond all other whites seem to have missed.

DeViana is a noted cameraman and Ronson is the head of the expedition shooting the jungle sequences to be seen in a picture of newsreel men, "Too Hot to Handle," produced by Lawrence Weingarten and directed by Jack Conway, with Clark Gable and Myrna Loy as the stars.

FLED, SCARED, INTO JUNGLE DeVinna and Resson; who reached the place by amphibian aeropline, also revealed that when the big white ship flew out of the skies and falighted on the river, all the natives Hedereaming into the Jungle. Describing the place, the two men stated:

"The natives with whom we will work are Djukas, from the bush country, and appear never to have seen a white man before we arrived. "Due to terrifle rains, 99 to 100 Inches a season, all villages are 200 to 300 feci back from the river bank to escape the river when it rises. Sonte of the trees are more than 100 feet high and are now covered with vines.
