The Governor of Kenya, Sir Robert Brooke-Popham, Intervening in debate on on unomieial motion calling on the Imperial Government to give an unequivocal ronssurance on the future of Tanganyika, in view of the repercussions that the uncer- tainty
of the position is having in Kenya, explained the difficulty that Government members would have in voling for the motion, which, he said, called on his Majeriy's Government to take a certain course of action.

The Dominion's intention, he said, was to expand existing manife- tories and to establish new Indus- tries, including the manufacture of motor tyres.
