YOUNG man, wearied at the sight of perpetual kerchief for the head, designed this attrac- lipe Breton bonnet.

It suggests itself for aporta or motoring, in a 30in, square of any woollen fabric or tweed, and can be fined in silk or cotton from another 30in, square. Or you can make it in a spot or novelty fabric and line with woollen.

A Paisley milk square with a gold-yellow ground or an embrai- dered silk can be utilised similarly for cerning wear-and looks en- chanting.

Or you can kuit your own ver- sion, daing a two-ply wool, No. 12 needles, and cast on 200 stitches, knitting plain for 300 rows, allow- ing 10 rows to the inch depth, Kuit the last 40 rows in a contrasting colour if you like an unusual border to your bonnet. Cod Hiawathan

Four cod steaks, pint crustied pineapple, 1 tablespoonful of lemon juice, salt and pepper.

Arrange the cod steaks in oblong are-proof dish. Put the but- ter, crushed pineapple, and lemon julce in a pan and bring to the boll. Season and pour this sauce over the Ash. Bake in a moderate oven until the fish is cooked.

Garnish with pleces of lemon and chopped parsley. This serves four

Haddock and Apple

Four Billeted haddocks, 2 dessert apples, pint milk, 1 ega. lemon juice, salt and pepper.

Peel the apples, cut in thin alices and arrange round the fsh. Beat the egg and milk together and pour over the Ash.

Sole Randolf

Eight pieces of sole (Ulleted), 2 oz dried apricots, 4 lb green grapes, gill of milk, y pint white sauce, salt and pepper.

Allow the apricots to soak in water for an hour. Drain and cut in umall pieces. Stone the grapes and mix with the apricots. Season the fish and place a dessertspoonful of fruit mixture on each piece of sole. Roll up and arrange in a shallow buttered casserole. Add the milk and bake in the oven unil the sole is cooked. When it is ready, drain off the milk carefully, add the sauce, and reheat.

Decorate with a few grapes and chopped parsley. This serves four
