NOT EVEN CONSIDER COLONIES QUESTION
"We are not discussing this matter; we are not considering it. It is not now an issue in pracucal politics.
"If we were ever to come to o dis- cussion on this
certain question. things would have to be borne in mind.
"Firstly, that Britain is not the only country which assumed adol tional territorial responsibilities after the war. Other countries are also involved, and the question will have to be examined by all those countries together."

Mr. MacDonald emphasised that we had responsibilitics with regard to the people living in mandated territories. We could
regard them as mere goods and chattels, 10: be disposed of to
others. We must pay attention to their wishes, and the wishes of the different sections of the population in those territories,

"In some places there were im- portant Indian communities, and, said Mr. MacDonald, "we must re- cognise the right of those people to express their opinion on a question all-important to them. We must at- tach full weight and force to those, opinions."

CORRECTION
Our attention has been drawn to a slight error which appeared in our interview with the Postmaster General in yesterday's issue. It was stated that a penny is reckoned to be equal to 30 gold centimes and that, as near as makes no difference, is 30 cents Hongkong money.
We are informed that a penny ja reckoned by the London Post Office to equal 10 gold centimes
that it
there is a deficiency of a 11⁄2d on & letter this doubled equals 30 gold renumes and that, as near as makes no difference, is 30 cents Hongkong money.
It should also be explained that no letters of any kind should be en closed in a parcel, a Christmas card containing no more than four words may, however, be enclosed.
